The first objectives of the game involved the retrieval of an emergency message drop from the Osiris (a storyline that appears in The Animatrix short film, "Final Flight of the Osiris"), a hovercraft believed to have been destroyed by Sentinels.
Players play as either Niobe or Ghost, each of whom have slight variations during their story. Most levels involve controlling players in a third-person perspective, using guns and fighting skills to defeat opponents and complete level objectives. At any time, players can activate bullet time (called "Focus" in the game) which slows down time, giving players the ability to perform actions such as shooting in midair and dodging bullets. Some levels involve one-on-one martial arts fighting against single opponents. In levels involving vehicles, such as driving a car or piloting the Logos, the style of game play depends on the selected player, commonly with Niobe maneuvering the vehicles to avoid obstacles, whilst Ghost takes control of a gun to fight off incoming enemies. A hacking system allows players to enter codes, which can unlock special skills, weapons and secrets, such as a 2-player versus mode.[3]
Enter the Matrix was designed, like the 2003 animated film The Animatrix, to be an integral part of the Matrix milieu. The game includes one hour of live action 35 mm film footage written and directed specifically for the game by The Wachowskis. The martial arts moves and game engine cutscenes feature actions motion captured directly from the films' actors and stunt doubles to recreate their unique fighting style, and were created under the supervision of the series' fight scene choreographer Yuen Woo-ping.
Even non-video game publications gave the game some positive acclaim. Maxim gave it a score of eight out of ten and said it was "by no means a weak attempt to cash in on a franchise...Gamers not only get tons of extra movie action but also get to run, kick, and shoot in a fully realized Matrix universe."[49] Entertainment Weekly gave it a B and said that it "wants to be so many different games that it doesn't excel at any one of them."[42] The Cincinnati Enquirer gave it three-and-a-half stars out of five and said that the game "isn't a perfect slice of interactive entertainment, but it does provide at least a dozen hours of action-packed fun and serves as a clever vehicle to expand on the events in The Matrix Reloaded."[41] The Village Voice, however, gave it six out of ten and stated: "Nerds may activate two-player mode using the DOS-throwback 'hacking gameplay element.' If any of you figure out how to boff Trinity during a rave, please e-mail me."[50]
Snodgrass: How did you translate this concept of the matrix into your work? Your Living Structures, for example, are unitary, multifunctional living environments based on a network of grids that are easily assembled and embrace simplicity of form.
After World War II, everything opened up. People were ready for new opportunities, new dreams. Modernism was a part of that. The forms and structures of modernism were the perfect matrix to insert myself into.12
The game takes place shortly before the events of the second film in the trilogy (just after The Final Flight of Osiris, one of the 'Animatrix' shorts, for what it's worth), and sees our two heroes racing to collect a transmission deposited inside the Matrix by the erstwhile crew of the Osiris, who stumbled upon something rather chilling during their last topside hover-about. After Ghost and Niobe achieve this, the plot takes a different turn and focuses on their efforts to help extract various other crews and generally kick the crap out of a never-ending onslaught of disillusioned police officers and SWAT team members, whilst sidestepping the attentions of various bullet-dodging "agents" hell-bent on their downfall.
Type any one of these commands to see what it does. If you type READ, for instance, it will be entered into the green area to the left of the keypad. Clicking on it will take you to a menu of possible choices. The PASSWORD option will take you to some websites to find codes at, and the MANUAL files are self-explanatory. To turn a cheat off, re-enter it. Note that certain cheats have the potential to screw up your game. Certain cheats lock the game, others make a bomb appear at the starting point. If a cheat is causing glitches, simply turn it off.
Remember that Virtual Drive password you got? Time to use it. Type VIRTUAL at the prompt and press ENTER. Use the password FROZENFISH to get in. Then you'll have to play a mini-game to get the character at the center screen to look right. It's obvious how you should change it, so move the square around the character and press START to change the tile you're over until you make a complete picture. There is a time limit, so move fast.
For the final piece of the puzzle, enter HANDSHAKE. This will log you on a chat with the Logos operator, Sparks. He asks you what's up. Any response will do. Once you respond, Sparks will have a little fun at your expense. He pretends you uploaded a virus to the Logos, and tells you Sentinels are headed his way. He tells you that he needs you to use an EMP. Access the LOGOS:\ drive and type EMP. Sparks will confess he was just messing with you, then tell you that he gave you a gift… it's the multiplayer game. Then he plays a message from Neo for you. Finally, he compliments your skill and logs off. Press any button to end the Hacking and save.
Enter the Matrix, along with the film trilogy and Animatrix, is commonly considered to be part of the overall arc and not just a spin-off. Unfortunately, Enter the Matrix faced a rushed production, as there was a desire to see it released on the same day as The Matrix Reloaded. Reviewers thought it to be unfinished and rushed, but it still went on to sell several million copies. With The Matrix 4 set to release in late 2021, some fans are hoping that a new Matrix game could be developed.
The 2×2 matrix is a quick and simple tool that will transform the way you prioritise your product backlog. It helps you to focus on features/enhancements that add the most value to your customers compared to the effort required to deliver them. Working best in a collaborative environment, it helps galvanise stakeholder buy-in and gives the ability to easily communicate (and in some cases defend) the decisions you make.
Karas and Hillenkamp further developed the use of solid small molecules as matrices, and later in the same year they published the mass spectra of four proteins, obtained using nicotinic acid as a matrix. Several other matrices have been developed in the past 25 years, as have alternative mechanisms to facilitate the mild ionization and desorption of macromolecules. Today, MALDI and its laser-desorption cousins are workhorses in most chemistry and biochemistry labs.

It was with no small amount of trepidation that I decided to re-enter the Matrix. Setting aside my fanboyisms and viewing this through the eye of a critic was probably going to ruin fond memories. Strangely enough, while I now recognize this title as objectively bad, I still enjoy what it was attempting.
So the PM team, in coordination with the CEO and all teams (developers, marketing, ops, sales etc.,) laid out 4 over-arching goals for the business. Under these headings fell all the product initiatives we had in mind. Not project level, but broader initiatives that may incorporate many projects. This was socialized around the company, debated and iterated over. At Braintree you are encouraged to question everything so this was a healthy, informative and sometimes heated discussion. But in the end we had a matrix of business goals and aligned product initiatives on which we could hang our hats.
The Matrix's fondness for green was well cemented even before Shiny Entertainment's involvement, but especially so by the time Reloaded and Revolutions entered simultaneous production and doubled down on it. After frequent disagreements and continuous tweaks around the subject, Shiny Entertainment eventually managed to implement a distinctive difference in colour grading between scenes that took place in and outside of the virtual space. However, to this day Robert admits that it was very frustrating and that "I don't think we ever really solved the problem completely".
Enter The Matrix eventually released on GameCube, PC, Xbox, and PS2 to middling reviews, with many critics citing its inherent repetition, lack of polish and inability to excel in any one of its core gameplay aspects. Even still, most came to appreciate just how well the game integrated into the wider Matrix canon, with special attention paid to the visuals, actor performances and fun implementation of bullet time. Such a tight development turnaround was the root cause for many of the finished game's issues, but the project still serves as an exemplar that future studios can use for adapting other entertainment media into a video game. 781b155fdc
